Jean-Paul started to ski at 3 years old thanks to the help of his father. He would spend every thursdays and weekends in the resort and, at 7 years old, he joined the ski club. During his competing years, he tried his hand at slalom races, where he came in third place in Chamrousse, and technical trials. After he obtained his instructor diploma, he first taught in Thollon les Mémises before buying a flat in Avoriaz and joining esf. For him, esf allows people to benefit from a wide variety of lessons depending on their objectives. During his long career of instructor, Jean-Paul has accumulated lots of memories, but his favorite is when gave ski lessons to a South African family who had never seen snow before.  

In addition to his winter occupation, Jean-Paul used to work in his parents’ supermarket before opening his own restaurant. His two jobs allow him to be in touch with people. Jean-Paul enjoys motorcycling, playing football and going to concerts. Furthermore, to follow world cup competitions, he skied in Austria, Italy and Switzerland. 

His favorite slopes are the Bleue du Lac and Combe des Crosaz. He also mentions the Grand Paradis as is favorite off-piste area.
